Despite rather horrible weather, members managed to enjoy a full, albeit damp, fun day on Sat 19th July. We played two 9 end games in the morning and, after lunch, we did a spider followed by 4 fun games, including bowls into a bucket and corner to corner.
Alan Turner got the top shot prize of £25.00 and the winners of each fun game also received a cash prize. With extra gifts from prize winners, we were able to make a donation of £70.00 to Alan's chosen charity - Parkinson's UK. The day also raised some additional income to the club funds.
We were due to hold another fun day on Sun 3 August. However, the general feeling is that this is too close to the last one, and given how busy the fixtures are at the present time, and how many of our players are not able to take part for various reasons, it has been decided to cancel the fun day on 3rd August. There will be another one on Sunday 14th September.
